The All-New Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS was officially unveiled by the British brand last month, in a virtual event broadcasted by social networks. Completely renewed, it arrives, offering a revolution in terms of power, performance, and technology.
Design
The Triumph Speed Triple is the mainstay of this naked motorbike from the British manufacturer since 27 years ago. This time, the All-New Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS uses the same design language as the Street Triple.
The LED lights are more pointed, which makes the front look even more futuristic. The frame also uses the new twin-spar model, with casting aluminum material and is 17 percent lighter than the older model.
Apart from the frame, the engine on the All-New Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS is also made more compact and saves 7.5 kg of weight. The battery, rear axle, clutch, and radiator are also new and lighter, making the total weight of only 210 kg.
Engine
Regarding the engine, the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS uses a new inline three-cylinder engine. Its capacity has increased from 1,050 cc to 1,160 cc. Thus, its power has increased to 178 hp and torque of 92.3 Nm.
Features
To create a responsive riding sensation, the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS packed a new exhaust with a distinctive three-cylinder sound. The RS variant at Triumph, known for its luxury, especially its legs, starts with the Ohlins NIX30 suspension.
At the back, the motorbike uses an Ohlins TTX36 twin tube and is equipped with preload, rebound, and compression adjuster. The front brakes use a monoblock Brembo Stylema, which clamps the 320 mm dish and the rear 220 mm.
The rims use 17-inch cast aluminum, with Metzeler Racetec RR tires ready to enter the circuit. The instrument panel display is sophisticated, thanks to the 5-inch TFT screen.
Its features are also very complete, where the manufacturer added traction control, ABS, and time attack mode in Track mode.
There is also a MyTriumph feature for connecting the naked motorbike to smartphones and GoPro.
Price and Availability
The All-New Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS starts at $ 18,300 and is expected to be available in the second trimester of this year.
