Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold was finally introduced globally. It is the first folding screen smartphone in Xiaomi’s history.
Display
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold has the main screen with an AMOLED panel covering an area of 8.01 inches with 2K (2480×1860 pixels). The smartphone has a very thin bezel supported by Dolby Vision, HDR10 + features, and up to 600 nits of brightness.
As for the front display, there is a 6.52-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2520×840 pixels. The front screen supports a refresh rate of 90 Hz, with a brightness of 700 nits and the Dolby Vision feature.
The standard version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold has a Gorilla Glass back with a ceramic texture. There’s also a Ceramic Special Edition with a black ceramic back with laser engraving, plus a gold center frame and volume buttons.
Camera
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold is equipped with three cameras consisting of a 108 MP main camera, a 13 MP ultrawide, and an 8 MP telemacro lens that can go to 30x zoom.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold camera system is equipped with what Xiaomi calls Liquid Lens technology. This technology is in the part of the HP telemacro lens, where there is a flexible film filled with a transparent liquid.
Features
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold relies on a Snapdragon 888 processor. Since the screen size when it becomes a tablet is quite large, Xiaomi has embedded a desktop mode on the smartphone, which looks quite familiar with Windows. To activate it, users only need to do a three-finger swipe.
The smartphone is also equipped with a 5,020 mAh battery, which is divided into two 2,460 mAh cells. It supports 67W wired charging, which can be fully charged in 37 minutes. However, there is no wireless charging option for the smartphone.
Price and Availability
In China, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold has been on sale by pre-order since last month, with the first sale on April 16, 2021. The lowest variant of the foldable smartphone with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is marketed starting at 9,999 Yuan.
